Steve has been with Settje Agri-Services and Engineering since May of 1998. Prior to joining SASE, he worked as a feedlot hand in maintenance, as a feed truck driver, and as a pen rider while attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. At SASE, his main emphasis has been engineering, design, and permitting of new and existing livestock facilities. The scope of projects which Steve has worked on primarily consists of feedlots, swine facilities, and dairies. Steve currently manages the Engineering Division of Settje Agri-Services.
Steve is married and has two girls and one boy. His hobbies include hunting, skiing, and watching his kid’s sporting events.
Matt has been with Settje Agri-Services and Engineering since May of 2001. Prior to joining SASE, he worked as an engineer for HWS Consulting (now Benesch) in Lincoln, Nebraska. His education consists of a Bachelor’s of Science and a Masters of Science in Civil Engineering, both from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His main emphasis has been design, permitting, and construction management for new and existing livestock facilities. The scope of projects which Matt has worked on primarily consists of feedlots, swine facilities, and livestock trailer washouts.
Matt is married and has two boys and one girl, and currently lives in Lincoln, Nebraska. He grew up in northeast Nebraska around the Pilger and Wisner area. Matt’s hobbies include volleyball, fishing, skiing, boating and playing cards.
Jake is the grandson of a farmer-feeder from NW Iowa, the son of a feedlot consulting veterinarian, and brother to a Sandhills ranch cowboy. He and his wife, Katie, live in rural Saunders County, with their two young children. Jake has a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering from Iowa State University and a Master’s degree in Biological Engineering from Mississippi State University. He currently serves as the Vice Chairmen of the Natural Resources and Environment Committee for Nebraska Cattlemen, the Vice President of the Mead FFA Alumni Association, and is a member of the Agriculture Advisory Board for Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE. In his free time, Jake enjoys high school football, college baseball, live music, and traveling.
Travis graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2011 with a Civil Engineering degree and emphasis in Water Resources. He began his career as an intern for a civil engineering firm in Lincoln, then went on to work for the company full time for about 6 years. His experience included project and construction management for a variety of water resources engineering projects.
Travis is a graduate of the Nebraska Water Leaders Academy where he developed leadership skills and increased his knowledge of water and natural resource issues in Nebraska. He earned his Professional Engineering license in 2016, and joined Settje Agri-Services in the fall of 2017. His tasks as a project engineer and manager include surveying, designing, permitting and managing construction of livestock facilities, dams, and other civil project for producers throughout the Midwest. Travis lives near Greenwood, Nebraska with his wife Kayley, and their two children where they also own and manage a small cow/calf operation.
Dan is a Professional Engineer with a Civil Engineering degree earned from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. His resume includes internships with both Nebraska Public Power District and Nebraska Department of Transportation, plus over 5 years of practice with a consulting engineering firm. His experiences include project management, and structural design, construction, and inspection. Dan is continuously working to ensure client goals are both as feasible and as safe as possible.
Dan and his wife, Erica, both grew up in rural Southeast Nebraska, in farm settings. They have a young daughter, Haidyn, and as a family they enjoy spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing, and attending sporting events.
Jason was born and raised in David City, Nebraska, and attended David City Public Schools. After high school, Jason attended Concordia University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation, he worked as an electrical designer/drafter for 14 years at Engineering Technologies Inc. and Advanced Engineering Systems in Lincoln, Nebraska. Jason then moved to Crescent Electric Supply and worked in the quotes department for a year. Now, he is a member of the Settje Agri-Services team as an Engineering Drafter, specializing in livestock systems design.
Jason has been married for 17 years to his wife Rebecca, and has 2 daughters. He enjoys attending his daughters sporting events, gardening, woodworking, 80’s music, and beating his co-workers at basketball.
Curtis is originally from Valparaiso, NE, and has recently relocated back to the area with his wife, Michelle, and their children. He attended Raymond Central Schools and Southeast Community College – Milford for a degree in Manufacturing Engineering and CAD Technology. Growing up, Curtis helped out on the family farm working in the fields and helping with the cow/calf operation. He also worked for a local construction company doing anything from re-roofing to building new houses or sheds. His hobbies and interests consist of motorsports, classic cars and trucks, antique tractors, and Nebraska football.
Curtis started working for Settje Agri-Services in 2018 as an Engineering Drafter.
Tony graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 2017 with a degree in Agricultural Engineering and an emphasis in Soil and Water Resources Engineering. He joined Settje Agri-Services in March 2018 after previously working with another livestock company, where he developed their equipment quoting software and assisted in scheduling the Lincoln Premium/Costco poultry production project around Fremont, NE. Tony previously interned with Settje Agri-Services in college and is excited to be back at the company full-time with his father. He enjoys working on designs for various livestock facilities and getting to interact with customers.
Tony grew up in Omaha, NE, where he currently resides. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing, and Husker athletics.
Garrett graduated in 2019 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Biological Systems Engineering with an emphasis in Soil and Water Resource Engineering. He joined Settje Agri-Services as an intern in March of 2019 prior to completion of his degree before going full time after graduation. He has previously interned in Northwestern Minnesota for RMB Environmental Laboratories specializing in surface water monitoring, modeling and design, and testing. He enjoys working on new and existing designs for a variety of animal feeding operations and working with customers to help their ideas and goals become reality.
Garrett is originally from Eastern North Dakota where his family still resides. He enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with friends and family at the lake.
